Colleagues at Mount Sinai Rehabilitation Hospital spread cheer over the holiday season within the hospital and in the community. The Rehabilitation Department held another successful toy drive to support local children and participated in a festive door decorating contest that was voted on by colleagues, patients, and visitors.
The Rehabilitation Team at Mount Sinai collected 107 toys in support of CT Victims Against Violence.
The interdisciplinary team supported a community toy drive benefiting CT Victims Against Violence (CTVAV), which aimed to provide 250 local children with at least two toys each. Together, the Rehabilitation Team collected 107 items to donate to the event.
“This effort truly reflects our organization’s mission and vision in action,” said Liliani Rosa-Marasiotis, RN, Nursing Professional Development Specialist at Mount Sinai. “Our rehab team didn’t just meet the goal – they surpassed it! Thank you for making such a meaningful impact on young lives.”
Internally, the department held its second annual door decorating contest, with the Rehab “elves” getting creative to spread holiday cheer. The friendly competition engaged colleagues, patients, and visitors, who voted and rooted for their favorite design on the fourth floor. Paula Lockshier, RN, and her upside-down snowman design garnered the most votes.
