Mercy Reopens Serenity Suite for Colleagues
Mercy leaders and colleagues gather to cut the ribbon for the reopening of the Serenity Suite.

Mercy Medical Center’s Serenity Suite has been a popular destination for colleagues since opening two-and-a-half years ago with about 700 unique visits every month. Because the high volume of foot traffic began to take a toll on the facility, Mercy leaders decided it was time to refresh the space.

In addition to a new coat of paint, new massage chairs have been installed and the computer system has been upgraded to provide a more relaxing experience as colleagues view any number of nature scenes available for their selection. Surround sound and special ambient lighting complement the individual nature scenes, adding to the sensory experience for colleagues as they take a break from their workday. The Serenity Suite also includes a yoga area and a renewal space.

“These improvements were designed with our colleagues’ needs and comfort in mind and reflect our appreciation for everything they do every day,” said Michael Rogers, PhD, Mission Integration Consultant, Mercy Medical Center. “The reopening of the Serenity Suite will allow colleagues to enjoy a few minutes of respite from their busy days or nights – while also serving as a place to heal their mind, body, and spirit.”

The Serenity Suite is located in room 2411 at Mercy Medical Center. It is available for colleague use 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with badge access.
