Mercy Medical Center is now affiliated with The US Oncology Network (The Network), the largest organization of its kind dedicated to advancing local cancer care. The new long-term strategic relationship provides Mercy and the Sister Caritas Cancer Center with access to the substantial expertise and ample resources of The Network.

“Our clinical oncology staff will collaborate with their colleagues across The Network, adding to the collective knowledge and experience of more than 2,500 independent providers across the U.S. Additionally, we will leverage The Network’s clinical and business consulting services and innovative technologies that support high-quality patient care, efficient drug management, and research,” said Robert Roose, M.D., M.P.H., President of Mercy Medical Center and Johnson Memorial Hospital. “Both our organizations share a common goal of prioritizing patients and are committed to improving care and the patient experience while expanding our practice and services.”

According to Dr. Roose, Mercy and the Sister Caritas Cancer Center will continue to operate as independent oncology care providers, offering state-of-the-art treatments in a community hospital-based setting. “Our collaboration with The Network empowers us to maintain our independence while benefiting from the resources necessary for growth, success, and continued advancements,” he said.

After meeting with several teams from The Network over the past several weeks, Dr. Roose is enthusiastic about the new collaboration and its role in the advancement of Mercy’s cancer program.
