Johnson’s Cardiac Rehab Welcomes New Equipment

Patients at Johnson Memorial Hospital’s Cardiac Rehabilitation program in Enfield now have two new pieces of equipment available for their use, thanks to a generous donation from the hospital’s Auxiliary. The program has an additional treadmill and an additional “NuStep,” a recumbent cross-training device.

Charlotte Kulas, President of the Johnson Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, recently stopped by the outpatient Cardiac Rehab program to meet with colleagues and see the new equipment that was purchased through previous fund-raising efforts. A former Cardiac Rehab patient herself, Kulas saw the benefit of the program firsthand. “My own experience with Johnson’s Cardiac Rehab program was not only beneficial but also enjoyable as the staff is so supportive,” she said. “We know the donation of a new treadmill and ‘NuStep’ will help this program have a greater impact on the local community.”

Patients who are managing heart failure or recovering from a heart attack can benefit from cardiac rehab, often achieving a better quality of life. Cardiac rehab programs focus on exercise tolerance, heart strength, and cardiopulmonary function.
