YOUR STORIES: New Community Impact Report Shows Strength of Mission Work
The Community Health and Well-Being Department shares an overview of the important Mission work happening in our communities.

The Community Health and Well Being (CHWB) department has created a Community Impact Report highlighting the work being done by Trinity Health Of New England in the communities they serve. The annual report also explains how the CHWB team uphold the Trinity Health Mission to serve together in the spirit of the Gospel as a compassionate and transforming healing presence within our communities.

Trinity Health Of New England recently reported over $192 million in the community benefit to the IRS for FY22 for their contributions made to improve health. This figure includes service programs, resources dedicated to training new clinicians, shortfalls from state payments to care for those experiencing poverty and investments with community-based partners to address the needs highlighted in the organization’s Community Health Needs Assessment. The Impact Report highlights just a few examples of the vast portfolio of activities that take place in the CHWB department. The team’s additional investments and efforts include hiring Community Health Workers to support clinical teams across the region, providing low interest loans to partners to expand development in underserved neighborhoods, managing grant programs that provide critical services impacting health outcomes and much more.

“All of our work is in collaboration with others and without these partners we would not succeed,” said Mary Stuart, MPH, Regional Executive Director, Community Health and Well-being, Trinity Health Of New England. “We depend on partners like our community leaders who keep us honest and tell the truth about their experience with our healthcare system; collaborations with clinical leaders who see the value of supporting the social needs in addition to the medical needs of those we care for; national leaders who invite us to join them on initiatives that focus on improving equity; and colleagues who support our work.”

Mary went on to say, “We are thankful and privileged to be in this role as servant leaders and hope you are inspired by the stories shared in the report.”
