Your Stories: Department of Medicine Annual Clothing and Blanket Drive Begins
Hashem Kalbouneh, M.D. loading his car for a delivery. He started the Clothing and Blanket Drive in 2020.

Saint Mary’s Hospital’s Department of Medicine is excited to announce their annual Clothing and Blanket Drive. The clothing and blanket drive was initiated by Hashem Kalbouneh, M.D. in 2020, while he was a resident in the Department of Medicine Residency program. Having graduated from the program in 2022, and now serving as a hospitalist at Saint Mary’s, Dr. Kalbouneh is excited to continue the collection.

The purpose of this drive is to gather new or gently used clothing, blankets, and other warm items to donate to the local shelter, St. Vincent DePaul Mission of Waterbury. Winter can be especially challenging for those who are less fortunate, and our contributions can provide comfort and warmth to those in need.

All colleagues interested in participating can drop off donations at:

Saint Mary’s Hospital

Department of Medicine

Conference room 202 (located in the conference center building)

Dr. Kalbouneh will drop off the items to St. Vincent DePaul on November 16, 2023.
