Duck Day 2024 is in the books! Held on the first Sunday of June each year, this year’s 19 Annual Duck Day event took place on a picture-perfect day in Naugatuck. Hosted by the Naugatuck Chamber, the event supports the local community. Saint Mary’s Hospital has been a long-time supporter of the event, sponsoring a decorated duck and hosting a Trinity Health Of New England table manned by colleagues from Naugatuck Internal Medicine and Blood Draw services.

Trinity Health Of New England colleagues, Jeremy Bourgoin, Jennifer Henriquez, Bonni Coma and Rekeisha Rose provided information to visitors.

Melissa Smith, Laboratory Supervisor, Central Processing, Phlebotomy and Outreach partnered with Ann Ferraro, Administrative Assistant to create the Saint Mary’s entry, titled “Going for GoldDucks on Display & Making the Grade.”

Over the years, Duck Day has raised nearly half a million dollars supporting over 350 nonprofit organizations including local food banks, animal shelters, educational foundations and health initiatives. Duck Day features live music, artistic and crafty vendors, local bites, and live street performances. The highlight of the day is the Duck Race, where thousands of rubber ducks plunge into the Naugatuck River. The first duck to reach the finish line wins the top cash prize.
