The seminar was designed for EMS providers, firefighters, law enforcement personnel, healthcare professionals and students. “This seminar benefits them in appropriate circumstances for the utilization of the aircraft, how to be safe when approaching the aircraft and the way that LIFE STAR needs them to load the patients,” said Leon Allegretti, Trinity Health’s EMS quality and training coordinator.
The presentation included real-world case discussions and a helipad demonstration. Attendees could get up close to the LIFE STAR helicopter and learn how to activate the aircraft, ensure landing-zone safety, manage scene operations, make patient selection and transport decisions and communicate effectively with flight crews.
