March is Multiple Sclerosis Awareness Month, a time to raise awareness about this chronic, unpredictable neurological disease that affects the central nervous system. The goals of the awareness campaign are to promote an understanding of the scope of this disease, and to assist those with MS in making educated decisions about their health care.

Colleagues, providers and leaders gathered at the Mandell MS Center at Mount Sinai Rehabilitation Hospital for a group Wear Orange photo.

During MS Awareness Week, recognized the week of March 9 – 15, locations throughout our Ministry conducted Wear Orange days, posing for group photos in support of MS awareness.

In addition, several Mandell MS Center locations marked the awareness week with a variety of events. In Springfield, the MS Center planned events throughout the week including Zumba and Tai Chi classes for patients and staff. The Mandell MS Center in Hartford also provided events for patients and staff including a physical wellness class conducted by physical therapist, Sarah Frank, DPT, MSCS.
