More than 11,000 runners took to the streets of Greater Hartford on October 10 for the 33rd annual Hartford Marathon. As a proud sponsor of the event, Trinity Health Of New England was there to support participants before and after they crossed the finish line.
Jeffrey Brown, MD, connects with runners and spectators at the 33rd Annual Hartford Marathon.
Jeffrey Brown, MD, Director, Primary Care Sports Medicine, Saint Francis Hospital, and members of the orthopedics team were on hand to provide runners with strategies for recovery after the race, general injury management information, yoga mats for individuals to stretch and information to connect runners to Trinity Health Of New England resources and services.
“It is so enjoyable to interact with the runners, their families and supporters at the Hartford Marathon event. The energy and community support is incredible. We sponsor a recovery kit giveaway at the event, as well as general advice and information,” said Dr. Brown. “It’s always a rewarding experience.”
The annual event, which winds through several Greater Hartford communities, included a full marathon, half marathon, 5K and team relay.
