Trinity Health Of New England Medical Group’s Pediatrics practice in Springfield was honored to receive a donation of 617 books from Barnes and Noble in January.

Pediatric patients benefit from a donation of books from Barnes and Noble.

The book donation was part of the “Reach Out and Read” collaboration between pediatric practices and Barnes and Noble. Sixteen cases of brand-new books were donated to the Springfield site to support literacy for our pediatric patients.

The donated books are suitable for infants and children from birth through the early teen years and will be distributed over the next several weeks. The books were donated under a grant program from Reach Out and Read, a nonprofit organization that gives young children a foundation for success by incorporating books into pediatric care and encouraging families to read together. Our Springfield, Chicopee and Agawam pediatric practices have received books from the Reach Out and Read program for infants and children from birth to five years of age for almost two decades.
