Nathan McCooty, RN (Graduate, O’Brien 4) delivered an inspirational class address reflecting on the partnerships nurses form with patients and their loved ones. “Each patient has a unique story, and I’ve learned that listening is just as important as any treatment we provide. Nursing is more than just medical skills; it’s about connecting with patients and their families.” Nate ended his moving speech addressing his fellow graduates to say, “The camaraderie with each other this year was invaluable. We shared experiences, challenges, and lots of laughter which made the journey a lot less daunting. Being a part of the Nurse Residency Program was truly a blessing.”
Graduates Holly Hanson-Behuniak, Critical Care, and Meghan Shilling, O’Brien 4, received “Perfect Attendance Awards” for attending every seminar throughout the year. The graduation ceremony closed with all nurses in attendance standing together to recite "A Nurses Prayer." The graduates proudly presented their evidence-based projects following the ceremony.
