Saint Mary’s Colleagues Bring Thanksgiving Joy to Local Families
December 2, 2024Categories: Colleague Corner
Saint Mary’s colleagues came together over the last week to build two dozen Thanksgiving Fixins Fix-up baskets for local families. The Thanksgiving Fixins Fix-Up Basket Initiative is a fun way for departments to give back to the local community during the holiday season.
Always a popular initiative at Saint Mary's, colleagues built 24 Thanksgiving Fixins' Fix-up baskets for community families.
Now several years running the collection is a colleague favorite, providing them the opportunity to get creative, with some departments making and donating more than one basket. In total, 17 departments from clinical engineering to administration decorated baskets and filled them with Thanksgiving dinner side dish ingredients and more. Each basket included a gift card to a grocery store for the purchase of a turkey.
The baskets are donated to St. Vincent DePaul Soup Kitchen and Food Pantry where they are distributed to families in the community just ahead of Thanksgiving.
