Go-Live Brings New Technology Resources to EVS Colleagues

No more pagers for the Environmental Services Department at Saint Mary’s Hospital. As part of the transition to TogetherCare, colleagues now utilize cell phones instead of pagers. The upgrade is a welcome one for the department. Stephen Hesse, General Manager, Environmental Services, Patient Transport, Linen, shares that the mobile devices improve communication and workflow.
“Utilizing cell phones rather than pagers is much easier,” said Hesse. “Rather than sharing computers with the floor nurses, EVS colleagues now have their own devices to check in to TogetherCare.”
The mobile devices streamline the process for colleagues. They can text each other for support, receive and send tasks. From the beginning there has been a positive response from colleagues.
Zuleika is one of the younger colleagues in the department and has become the “go-too” person for a lot of her colleagues. “Technology comes easier for me, so I’ve become everyone’s new best friend,” she said.
Environmental Services colleagues Gamalier Garcia and Ekurane Sulejmani are loving their new cell phones.
