Many areas in the southwestern region of Connecticut are still recovering from intense storms that hit the state in August, causing millions of dollars in damage. Many residents in the communities of Oxford, Southbury and surrounding towns continue to face challenges as they work to rebuild roads, bridges, businesses and homes.
Saint Mary's Mission Leader, Stephanie Boccuzzi, M.Div., recently delivered the collection to Beth Palumbo of the Seymour-Oxford Food Bank.
The historic flooding impacted several of our own colleagues. Saint Mary’s came together to host a Community Food Drive for those affected by the storm. A dozen boxes of food stuff and a pallet of water were collected over the course of just over a week. Colleagues also financially donated to the Colleague Crisis Fund. The Colleague Crisis Fund was established to assist colleagues who need aid when they experience a financial emergency.
