Scott Whyte, D.O., Emergency Department, Saint Mary’s Hospital recently received the Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University Excellence in Clinical Teaching Award.
Scott Whyte, D.O., was recognized with a Clinical Teaching Award from Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine.
Students participating in the Emergency Medicine Clerkship were asked to nominate faculty who went above and beyond to enrich their education. The Excellence in Clinical Teaching Award celebrates clinical faculty at the Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine who have excelled in teaching students in required clinical clerkships.
According to Lisa Coplit, M.D., Senior Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs, “these teachers demonstrate their dedication to education and teach in a manner that creates an encouraging, intellectually stimulating environment that promotes critical thinking and learning.”
“Teaching excellence is the lifeblood of our institution,” said Dr. Coplit. “We thank Dr. Whyte for serving as an example of exceptional teaching and for providing our students with valuable learning experiences.”
“It was an honor to receive this award,” said Dr. Whyte. “Teaching and mentoring medical students ensure the next generation of doctors.”
Dr. Whyte was presented with his award at the Faculty Celebration held on May 15.
