Jason Prevelige, DMSc, MBA, PA-C, DFAAAPA, Emergency Department, is elected President of the American Academy of Physician Associates and Chair of the Board of Directors.
“I am honored to serve as President of the AAPA and am profoundly grateful for the trust placed in me,” said Jason. “This role is more than a title, it’s a commitment to our profession’s growth and the health of our communities.”
Jason has been an active member with the AAPA on local and national levels having previously served in the House of Delegates on various commissions and has held numerous roles in the Connecticut Academy of Physician Associates including president and director-at-large.
Graduating from the Quinnipiac University PA Program in 2009, Jason is a long-time colleague in Saint Mary’s Emergency Department and has worked in various capacities with Connecticut Children’s. He believes that serving patients has not only taught him the importance of addressing medical needs of patients, but also their holistic well-being. “I’ve come to understand that true healing often involves helping patients navigate life’s broader challenges, whether it’s finding housing, providing a meal or simply listening.”
In addition to his clinical practice, Jason also serves as a faculty member of the Sacred Heart University PA program, the Quinnipiac University PA program, and is a preceptor for PA, advanced practice nursing, and medical students from several universities.
“In my daily work, whether as an administrator, educator or clinician, my core focus remains the patient,” said Jason. “I believe that by empowering PAs to practice to the fullest extent of our education and experience, patients will receive better care, and our health care system will benefit.”
U.S. News & World Report recently named the PA profession the #2 Best Health Care Job and #3 Best STEM Job in its 2025 rankings. Responding to the news, Jason said, “the rankings highlight the PA profession’s continued growth and leadership in expanding access to care and addressing health inequities nationwide. And it’s a powerful recognition of the contributions PAs make to health care every day!”
