Mercy Medical Center and Johnson Memorial Hospital celebrated colleagues recently during spring colleague appreciation events.
Johnson colleagues enjoyed ice cream treats from Ben & Jerry's.
The events served as a “thank you” to colleagues for their extra efforts in recent months and to belatedly celebrate Hospital Week.
Colleagues at both hospitals were offered a break from their busy schedules to enjoy a cup of Ben and Jerry’s ice cream and their choice of sweet toppings. The semi-annual colleague appreciation events always draw a large crowd of colleagues. In this case, the Ben and Jerry’s trucks served close to 1000 cups of ice cream over two days.
“So many of our colleagues simply go about their tasks every day, always keeping their focus on what is best for the people in our care. Our appreciation events provide an opportunity for us to thank all of our colleagues for their faithful service and ongoing contributions to our ministry, regardless of whether they provide care at the bedside or work in a support role,” said Robert Roose, M.D., M.P.H., President of Mercy Medical Center, Johnson Memorial Hospital, and Saint Mary’s Hospital.
