Santa and Mrs. Claus were the guests of honor at Johnson Memorial Hospital where they enjoyed breakfast with the children of hospital colleagues. The annual children’s holiday party drew more than 100 colleagues and their children who also enjoyed a full slate of holiday activities.

Funded entirely by the Johnson Medical Staff, excited children filled the CMEC building on the Johnson campus and enjoyed a morning program tailored just for them. The children moved among several activity tables where they could color and make Christmas ornaments, have their faces painted, and write and send letters to Santa at the North Pole. The children also stopped by a candy table where they received bags of Christmas candy.
The highlight of the party was the sitting area where children could visit Santa and Mrs. Claus before receiving their gifts. Santa made time to speak with each child, asking what they wanted most for Christmas.
“We are grateful to the Johnson Medical Staff for sponsoring the holiday party, generously covering the cost of the decorations, the food, and a gift for each child in attendance,” said Lindsey Gamble, MSN, RN, Vice President of Patient Care Services and Operations/Chief Nursing Officer, Johnson Memorial Hospital. “We also appreciate the efforts of our colleagues who took care of logistics – decorating the room, volunteering to help the children with holiday crafts, and cleaning up the space afterward. It was a true team effort that brought joy to so many colleagues and their children.”
