Founded in April 1913 with 18 original members, the Johnson Memorial Hospital Auxiliary has played a vital role in supporting the hospital for over a century.

Over the last 53 years alone, the Auxiliary raised more than $700,000 for the hospital. With efforts that began with sewing linens and selling food, Auxiliary members eventually channeled their work into organizing golf tournaments and managing a successful gift shop.

The Auxiliary’s fundraising efforts have supported critical projects, including the purchase of a 3D mammogram machine for the S. Prestley and Helen Blake Ambulatory Care Center and equipment upgrades for the Cardiac Rehab Program in Enfield. Auxiliary members recently made a final gift of $52,000 to establish the Leadership Discretionary Fund that will be used to address immediate and unexpected hospital needs.

To honor their unwavering dedication, a commemorative plaque has been placed at the entrance of Johnson Memorial Hospital. The Auxiliary's 110 years of service will remain an enduring part of the hospital's legacy.
