Johnson leaders host state and local lawmakers for a legislative breakfast.
Hosted by Johnson Memorial Hospital Board Chair Phil Tartsinis, Board member John Kearney and Robert Roose, MD, MPH, President Johnson Memorial Hospital and Trinity Health Of New England Community Hospitals, the session included recognition of Johnson’s efforts to ensure quality and safety with the achievement of three consecutive “A” safety grades from The Leapfrog Group. Dr. Roose also provided information about ongoing efforts to improve Johnson’s financial outlook and highlighted the opportunity to collaborate with lawmakers on priority legislative issues. One highlight of the session came with State Representative Santanella and First Selectman Morrison fondly recalling teenage memories as volunteers at Johnson Memorial. Johnson leaders were also available to answer questions from the state lawmakers and local officials in attendance.
“These sessions provide an important opportunity for open dialog with the area’s political leaders as we work alongside of them for the benefit of our community,” said Dr. Roose.
