Connecticut state lawmakers, Senator John Kissel, Representative Carol Hall, and Representative Jaime Foster, joined a representative from the office of Congressman Joe Courtney and several Stafford-area town officials for a legislative breakfast at Johnson Memorial Hospital.

JMH Legislative Breakfast

Dr. Robert Roose addresses attendees at Johnson's recent Legislative Breakfast.

Hosted by Robert Roose, M.D., MPH, President of Community Hospitals, Trinity Health Of New England, and Phil Tartsinis, Board Chair, Johnson Memorial Hospital, the session included information about recent Johnson successes, including the “A” safety grade from The Leapfrog Group and its ranking among the top three hospitals in Connecticut for patient experience by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid. Dr. Roose also provided details about efforts around strategic growth, such as the phased opening of the new S. Prestley and Helen Blake Ambulatory Care Center (ACC), a comprehensive "hub" for outpatient services on Johnson’s Enfield campus and highlighted legislative priorities for the 2025 legislative session.

Johnson leaders were also available to answer questions from the state lawmakers and local officials in attendance. “These sessions are important because they not only provide a casual setting for the exchange of ideas with the area’s political leaders, but they also give us a chance to thank them for their ongoing support of Johnson Memorial Hospital,” said Dr. Roose.
