Your Stories: Johnson Patients Benefit from Clothing Donation
January 6, 2026Categories: Colleague Corner
Special thanks are in order to the Somers Human Services Department.
Matthew Cox, Director of Human Services for the Town of Somers presents Erin Gately, LCSW, Behavioral Health Clinical Supervisor, with a donation of fleece clothing for patients.
Late last month, Johnson Memorial Hospital received a box of brand-new men’s and women’s Lands End fleece clothing for patients on our Geri-Wellness Unit. The donation arrived after Matthew Cox, Director of the Somers Human Services Department, reached out to ask about needs on our behavioral health units. Often times our geriatric patients report being cold on the unit, so warm fleeces are a great way for patients to feel comfortable.
Over the past year, the town of Somers Human Services Department has donated numerous items for distribution to our patients including “Fresh Start Kits” containing slipper/slides, water bottles, under garments, and Uber gift cards.
We are beyond appreciative of the support this partnership provides and look forward to continuing working together to help our community!
