Your Stories: Saint Francis Case Management Partners with Hartford Police Department to Adopt-A-Family
December 26, 2023Categories: Colleague Corner

Saint Francis Hospital’s Case Management Community Grant Program is grateful for a beautiful partnership they have formed with the Hartford Police Department. For the last four years, HPD has adopted a family through the Saint Francis Holiday Giving Tree.
Michelle Rosario, Lead Parent Educator with Saint Francis Parenting Support Services, works with the family and donors, including Natasha Shelton, HPD Detention Matron B Squad, and Jose Contreras, HPD Booking Division B Squad. Officer Contreras is the husband of Parenting Support Services Supervisor, Monica Contreras.
HPD purchased Christmas gifts for an entire family of a single mother and her three daughters. This mother, who relocated to the area a few years ago with the dream of creating a stable environment for her girls, works three part-time jobs, seven days a week, while always making time to participate in her children’s school activities. HPD made it possible for this family to have a magical and memorable Christmas!
This year, 40 entire families were adopted by hospital colleagues and our local community. Hundreds more individual wishes were also fulfilled by the Saint Francis Holiday Giving Tree.
