The Saint Francis Inpatient Phlebotomy team came together and collected over 50 pounds of food to donate to the Joan C. Dauber Food Pantry, located on the Mount Sinai Rehabilitation Hospital Campus. The team wanted to do something together to positively impact the local community, which led to the idea of doing a food drive within the department. The drive gave everyone the opportunity to contribute and be a part of the initiative.
The Inpatient Phlebotomy team collected over 50 pounds of food as a way to come together and benefit the community.
“It’s a proud feeling to see that our team not only performs their jobs, but also serves those in need and lives up to our Trinity Health Core Values,” said Nirav Rajpura, Supervisor of Clinical Services, Specimen Processing/Inpatient Phlebotomy. “Thank you to those who served and made their generous contributions.”
The Joan C. Dauber Food Pantry, founded in 1976 as the first food pantry located in a hospital setting, serves 1,500 clients per month in the greater Hartford community, providing food, diapers, clothing, and personal care items.
