Hartford Whalers alumni visited with colleagues and patients on several units as a part of their visit to Saint Francis during Whalers Alumni Weekend.

Former Whalers in attendance included Andre Lacroix, Archie Henderson, Jeff Brubaker, Joel Quenneville, Norm Barnes, Scott Daniels, Wayne Babych, and Ike Corriveau, along with Chuck Kaiton, “the voice of the Whalers.”

The Whalers alumni participated in a press conference at Saint Francis, followed by an autograph and photo session with hospital colleagues. Led by David Shapiro, M.D., Chief Medical Officer; Daniel Gerardi, M.D., Chief of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine; Evan Nadler, M.D., Pulmonary and Critical Care; and Mary Keller, Radiology Manager, the players visited several units within the hospital to visit with patients.

“These retired Whalers really just embrace the experience and want to give back to the program and make sure people know that they’re here to support them. It’s amazing,” said Dr. Shapiro.
