Your Stories: Jazzmin the Therapy Dog Visits Saint Francis
Jazzmin, a 9-year-old Newfoundland and therapy dog, is bringing smiles to colleagues during visits to Saint Francis.

Pet therapy dog Jazzmin recently made her second visit to Saint Francis along with Lindsay Marsh, RN, Nurse Manager in Interventional Cardiology. As a therapy team, Jazzmin and Lindsay focus on bringing smiles and happiness to colleagues throughout the hospital.

On March 28, Jazzmin made stops on 8-9, 9-9, 10-9, 3-5, CICU, Cath Lab, EP Lab, Non-Invasive Cardiology, and the Main OR Breakroom. Lindsay plans on bringing Jazzmin back for another visit in May to share her smile-inducing joy with more colleagues.

A 9-year-old Newfoundland, Jazzmin became a certified therapy dog last August. Lindsay and Jazzmin make regular visits to nursing homes, elementary schools, and literacy nights. According to Lindsay, Jazzmin loves her therapy dog duties.

“Jazzmin has exceeded my expectations as a therapy dog,” Lindsay said. “She shows excitement for her work from the moment we leave the house to arriving at our visit. We are happy to be able to give back to the community and healthcare workers we encounter. Her sweet personality creates a calm environment for children, staff, and patients, who all enjoy their time petting her.”
