Saint Francis Celebrates Jerry Galipeau’s Retirement
March 11, 2024Categories: Organizational Updates

As Executive Director of Mission Integration, Jerry Galipeau has ministered to the colleagues, patients, and community of Saint Francis, Mount Sinai, and affiliated ministries in the Hartford Market for nearly seven years. A wonderful colleague and friend to all, Jerry will retire effective March 15.
Many know Jerry personally, and his loss to the ministry will be felt by all. Through his daily reflections and thoughtful video messages, steadfast commitment to rounding with leaders and colleagues, lending support to colleagues in crisis, attending to relations with Board members, the Archdiocese, and Sisters of St. Joseph of Chambery, and providing leadership and direction of meetings and community events, Jerry has truly embodied the heart of Saint Francis and Trinity Health Of New England.
In an announcement to Saint Francis and Mount Sinai colleagues, Dan Moen, Acting President said, “Jerry has been a comforting presence through many transitions and challenges of the ministry community, especially through the COVID-19 pandemic. We will miss his tireless support of colleagues and compassion for the most vulnerable members of the communities we serve.”
While Trinity Health Of New England conducts a search for permanent executive Mission leadership, Steve Surprenant, Trinity Health Vice President of Ministry Formation, will support the Hartford Market with Executive Mission Leader presence and support. Mike Rogers, Mission Integration Consultant for the Springfield Market, will continue to assist with the delivery of Mission services in that area.
A retirement celebration for Jerry is planned for Thursday, March 14, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the CIPCI Collaborative Theater, and all are invited to wish him well. Enormous gratitude goes to Jerry for his years of dedicated service and the countless gifts he has shared with our ministry community.
Congratulations, Jerry!
