Your Stories: Hartford Symphony Orchestra Musicians Perform for Patients at Saint Francis
Violinists from the Hartford Symphony Orchestra recently visited the Cancer Center and Medical Oncology to play soothing music for patients.

In a new arrangement between Saint Francis Hospital and the Hartford Symphony Orchestra, string players from the orchestra recently began to create a healing environment for our patients. Lisa Rautenberg and Candace Lammers, both violinists with the orchestra, played soothing music for patients during their infusion time at the Cancer Center, as well as for patients on 8-1, our Medical Oncology Unit. Patients and family members were so appreciative of the healing music that was played. Our hope is to have more opportunities for Symphony players to offer this healing experience in other areas of the hospital in the coming months.
