Saint Francis STOP THE BLEED Team Donates Kit to Weaver High School
Members of the Saint Francis Trauma Team donated a STOP THE BLEED kit to Weaver High School.

Trinity Health Of New England trauma teams offer STOP THE BLEED® training courses to anyone interested in learning the lifesaving skill, including teachers, students, and community groups. In Hartford, the trauma team at Saint Francis held several training sessions at local schools, including Weaver High School in the Blue Hills neighborhood.

Through a partnership with the Blue Hills Civic Association, Saint Francis donated a STOP THE BLEED kit to the school. The kit, which is designed to be mounted on the wall, includes gloves, tourniquets, dressings, gauze, and additional items such as trauma shears and a survival blanket.

The Saint Francis team has also conducted a series of trainings with Avon schools, presenting the course to approximately 500 teachers and staff members during once-a-month training sessions for the past five months.

Saint Mary’s trauma team also conducts STOP THE BLEED trainings in the greater Waterbury area including courses for Explorer groups and scout troops. In addition, the Saint Mary’s Trauma team holds monthly STOP THE BLEED training sessions on campus for colleagues and members of the community.
